END TIME IS 7AM SUNDAY MORNING
“Homelessness is often hidden on our society. Young people who have no fixed home will often find themselves sleeping at a friends house on a sofa or the floor.
In the past year we have seen young people staying in tents, cars, sleeping on a kitchen floor and in a shed, with many more “sofa surfing”.
The YMCA can help
We can give young people a safe place to stay and provide support to promote independence
By taking part in our sleep easy campaign you can raise money through sponsorship to stay out for 1 night. Sleep on a sofa, in a tent, car or even make your own cardboard shelter at our Sleep Easy site to raise money and awareness of young people and homelessness.
A group of like-minded volunteers will be spending the night together at our Sleep Easy site in Ripon. We will start at 7pm with a meal and briefing at the YMCA. Followed by games and activities. We will see the Hornblower set the watch and then go to bed. We will have sofas, some tents and equipment available, although you need to confirm your preferred sleeping arrangements before the event, and provide your own warm clothing and sleeping bag.
Breakfast will be from 6am with the event finishing at 7am on the Sunday morning.
The event will be managed and run by the staff at Ripon YMCA. We will provide support to all registered participants through the night.” Click here to continue reading.
