Half Term At Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal

A family day out to Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal in autumn means frosty mornings, fights with crunching leaves and hot chocolates as you race round the estate.

As the trees grow orange and gold and begin to shed their summer colours, thoughts are turning to October half term. While scrambles on the wooden playground and a trip to see the deer is more than enough to keep little legs busy, this half term there’s even more to do at the National Trust site.

Find out what’s on at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal this half term in our blog here.

The House and Grounds have be taken over by a gang of ghostly pirates and ghoulish zombies and they’re on the lookout for new recruits!

Hidden deep within Castle Howard’s burnt out wing lies the ancient cure to zombification. whilst somewhere amongst the twisting woodland paths is a hoard of lost Pirate treasure waiting to be unearthed. And there’s about to be an epic clash between the two camps of the living dead.

But which team will you join? #TeamPirate or #TeamZombie?

Families of all ages can enjoy a day of indoor and outdoor trails, solving clues along the way, taking part in craft activities and joining fun workshops to learn the ways of the zombies and the pirates, before a daily battle commences.
